Loved and Lost

Love.

An overly used word at times. Not many say it without appreciating the true full extent and meaning of such a simple four letter word.Not many knows the true value of it all.

When you say that you love someone, you’re saying that you’re accepting them. For who they were, back in the past, no matter the mistakes made, no matter what they did wrong or right. For who they are now, learning to forgive and forget and to see them right thru. And for who they will be, not knowing what holds for the future, but knowing that you’ll be there, right thru the good, the bad and the ugly.

When you say that you love someone, you’re making a promise to treasure them. For the memories, you’ll cherish. For the good old times, you’ll treasure. And for the bad and ugly times, through the quarrels and arguments, you’ll learn that they make your relationship stronger and make you wiser.

When you say that you love someone, you’re making a vow. A vow to protect them from harm, to shield them from sins, and a vow to always treasure their presence, and not take them for granted. To appreciate their very existence, be it beside you, be it in your mind and heart, to always be there for them.

And so, the true meaning and full extent of the word LOVE. A simply word, but magical and endless in meanings.

To my God, I love you and the beautiful religion of yours and your messengers.

To my family, I love you and the beautiful warmth and care that you’ve provided endlessly.

To Farhana, I love you right through and through, that beautiful smile of yours, that beautiful character of yours, that beautiful girl that made it all worth it.

To my friends, I love you, for you make life the best journey.

When people sacrifice, not knowing what holds for the future, that’s when you know that they truly love you.

When people compromise, knowing that it makes the other person feel appreciated and at the same time, learning to accept them for who they are, that’s when you know that they truly care for you.

And when people are patient with one another, knowing how much it means to them that you’re keeping your cool, keeping your words unspoken, that’s when you know that they really value the love and relationship.

The moment you realise that spending time apart doesn’t mean you’re far away from each other. Just look to the heart and mind, and you’ll find that special person there.

The moment you realise that talking less doesn’t mean you care less. Just means that you will appreciate and treasure the long talks and memories that comes along with it.

The moment you realise that being far away from each other doesn’t mean you don’t make time for each other. Just means that you will always cherish the moments you’ve spent together and will spent together.

The moment you realise that you past doesn’t matter. That loving someone means accepting them for who they are, for who they were and for who they will be and there’s nothing to be afraid about it.

The moment you realise that there’s no other person in this world you would want to have, to love and to be with. Just means that you found the one. The perfect beautiful angel.

Most times, it’s a lot easier not to let the world know what’s wrong.

Dear you,

For this past one week, you’ve been very patient. Very patient in the sense that you gave me space to study for my exams. Very patient in the sense that you’ve provided me with moral support and words of encouragement when I felt like giving up. Very patient in the sense that you gave me time for myself to recuperate and recover from this sickness. And so, I vow, insha Allah, for the rest of my life, to treasure and cherish the moments and times we have together, for they will be the backbone of our relationship. <3 

For this past one week, you’ve been very understanding. Very understanding in the sense that you knew the emotional roller coaster I had to go through and yet, painfully, stuck through it. Very understanding in the sense that you knew the suffering and pain that I had to withstand and never fail to “nag” at me with your constant reminders to drink up and take my medications and to rest more. And so I vow, insha Allah, for the rest of my life, to hold and care and provide for you and for the family, for you and them will be the important people n my life. <3

For this past one week, you’ve been the amazing girlfriend one could ever ask for. Amazing in the sense that you provided ample tender loving care, amazing in the sense that you did not once grumble about the lack of time we spent together. And so I vow, insha Allah, for the rest of my life, to always appreciate and love you for who you are, for who you were, and for who you will be, insha Allah. A soleha daughter-in-law who respects her elders, a beautiful and perfect wife who taats to her husband and God, and the best mother and caregiver who never fails in her duty to protect and provide for her children. Amin.
